welcome to the peace river k9 search & rescue association, inc.
If someone is missing right now, call your local law enforcement agency first — 911 or your county sheriff's office. A documented missing-person report must exist before we can work a case.
To request PRSAR: Ph. 941-548-7560 or email [email protected]
This is a Voice over IP line and does not receive text messages. You may also email us, and we will return your call quickly. We respond 24 hours a day, every day.
Welcome to the Peace River K9 Search & Rescue Association, Inc.
Peace River K9 Search and Rescue is a southwest Florida nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, made possible by public donations and the work of volunteers, providing professionally trained search-and-rescue teams for the rapid, effective, and safe return of lost and missing persons.
PRSAR never charges for its time or its services. We respond 24 hours a day, every day, at no cost to the requesting agency. Family-retained private searches are conducted under a written agreement that covers only actual out-of-pocket expenses — never a fee for our time.
What we bring
Notices
For the media-
The media are welcome to observe and ask about PRSAR training. We do not post team search results or case information on the internet or anywhere else — that is a private matter between the family and the overseeing law enforcement agency. Requests for comment on an active case should go first to the overseeing agency's Public Information Officer. For interview requests or information on private searches PRSAR is involved in, contact our Public Information Officer at [email protected]
For visiting SAR and law enforcement personnel
PRSAR regularly hosts visitors from around the country and the world, and all are welcome to train with us. Call or email before you come, and we can help with lodging arrangements and let you know the training schedule.
Requests for training procedures and SOPs
We receive many inquiries about our training procedures and standard operating procedures. We are glad to help, and we respond to written requests submitted on agency letterhead. Requests are reviewed by the Board of Directors and a response is issued.
Background checks
All PRSAR volunteers pass a Florida Level 1 (State) background check before deploying into the field. Human remains detection and FAST team members pass a Level 2 (State and Federal, fingerprinted) check.
