The Family Advocacy Services Team
Your loved one has gone missing. Law Enforcement is doing all it can but now 72 hours later there are still no results, no leads, nothing. It is at this point when the tough decision is made to scale down the search effort. The truth is Law enforcement simply does not have the staff or resource to continue the full search effort. The routine is take a report and proactively wait. This routine, unfortunately, is supported by statistics that show the majority of lost and missing persons are simply "overdue" and there is good news that a large majority of these missing perons do come home or get recovered quickly. However, when Law Enforcement begins to scale down the search effort, the Lost person and their family will need an advocate outside the structure of the law enforcement community. For most there is an appointed Family member who steps into that roll. But what to do next and where to check and look can seem an overwhelmingly impossible task. While there are various agencies that deal with specific groups (infant / child, dementia, autistic, etc.) the goal of the FAST team is to assist those that have fallen through the gaps of the system.
The FAST team will help with the things people do not think of and have to remember in the middle of a deep emotional crisis by assiting with the following:
1) Producing and distributing Missing Person Flyers
2) Checking Hospitals
3) Dealling with the Media
4) Checking with and searching social media sites.
5) Making sure leads are followed up on in a timely matter.
6) Making sure the missing person and their DNA is listed in the proper FBI and other missing person databases.
7) Organizing a large search effort for evidence or missing person recovery.
If you are still unsure what needs to be done please check out our Someone is Missing page or fill out the form below and we will get back to you quickly.
